A new municipal well is being drilled to capture additional water resources. Drilling is complete to near 300 feet and will draw from the Wonewoc Aquifer. The well will provide an additional 700 gallons per minute of water during peak demands. This year the municipal system will pump near 900 million gallons of water.
Plans and specifications have been prepared for the East-West Watermain Connection Project. The project will entail connecting the City’s east and west watermain systems to increase redundancy of the water system, improve water quality and water pressure, and be able to fill both west water towers to maximum capacity.
With the completion of this project, the City of Otsego can continue to meet the wastewater treatment needs of the City as residential and business growth continues. The upgraded facility will also provide the ability to meet current and future regulatory requirements.
